Staying safe
Meeting new people should feel good. Here’s how GB7 Meetup is built to protect you, and how to look after yourself when you meet up.
How we protect you
- Approximate location only. Your exact address is never published. You choose how precise your public location is (approximate, neighbourhood, or city).
- Metadata stripped. Photos you post are re-encoded to remove hidden EXIF/GPS data.
- You control contact. Decide who can message you and whether you appear on the map, and connect only with people you choose.
- Report & block. Remove someone from your experience instantly, and flag behaviour for review.
- Account protection. Email verification and optional two-factor authentication help keep your account yours.
When you meet in person
- Meet in a public place the first time, and stay in public.
- Tell a friend or family member where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
- Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave. You never owe anyone your time.
- Keep conversations on the platform until you’re comfortable, and don’t share financial information.
If something goes wrong
Block and report the person in the app, or email safety@gb7meetup.com. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (112 in the EU).
